I have about 100 miles on my new engine and wanted to change the oil. I wanted to change over from the straight 40w Kendal racing oil to Royal purple syn. How many miles do you guys put on your engines before you consider the rings seated---500-1500?
I think I'll just change the oil with the same iv'e been using for now, maybe it's best to change over on next oil change in say 1500 miles to make sure the rings are seated.
Opinions?

100 miles is plenty. You can switch over now.

I run mine in the garage for about half an hour then change it.

But, mine could probably stand to be run at the track for a weekend first.

Really Alex? I have not used any additives for ring seating. Cool...
I wanted to get the oil out of there as it's been running so rich im sure it's contaminated with fuel. Have to protect my investment
Thanks
