i just acquired a 351-w with 351 WCD14 stamped in the valley on the block. the heads are D00Z. are thes just good boat anchors or are they worth messing with?
thanks, mke

Of stock small block heads those are considered the best.

mike I,ve been told that the after market heads are better. And are about the same cost to buy as the 351w are to port and rebuild.I have read and been told that the World products iron heads are one of the best buys and really add alot of preformance.Fully assembled iron heads from summit racing $795. aluminum fully assembled heads $1249.If you do your own head work .Then I've read that if you give the stock heads a little porting and a good valve job.And port match the gaskets you can pick up about 25-35 hp.They need the most work on the exh side like most SB fords. But,I'm no expert I just play one on TV.
