..........and the cheap-*** fuel line that the shop sold us leaked like a sieve, even after we wrapped the threads with teflon tape. I guess good ain't cheap and cheap ain't good. Should have listened to my dad when he said he thought it didn't fit quite right.Tomorrow, I am gonna go get a braided stainless line and hook that up. Should work better and look better, too. ------------------ 1965 Coupe, Tremec 3550, Steeda Tri-Ax, Cable Clutch conversion, 3.25 gears, Ford XB3 longblock, x303 heads, B-Cam, 9:1 comp., Ford Racing high-torque starter, Pertronix Ignitor & Flamethrower coil, Accel 8.8mm wires, 600 cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock RPM intake, K&N air, Holley electric fuel pump & AFPR, dual 2-chamber Flowmasters, KYB shocks, 5-leaf springs, Chrome Export Brace, Griffen Radiator, Comp. Teflon tape should not be used on the inlet fuel lines.. Compression fittings need no sealants.. If a piece breaks off and gets in the bowl, it can cause the needle and seat to stick open or cause blockage... When dual lines leak it is usually caused by cross threading..A flexible steel braided line is best because it is easier to get the threads started without the chance of misalignment.. Always be sure your threads are clean and start them a few turns by hand only, then tighten with wrenches.. It's best to tighten the stationary fitting first with one wrench and hold it tight while tightening the male end with the other.. If the thread pattern is correctly matched and lined up properly, then it will seal easily and no tapes or sealants are necessary.. Got a new fuel line. It wasn't braided, but we used it anyway, and it doesn't leak.Oh yeah, about the carb..... IT ROCKS!!! No kidding, right out of the box, stock jetting. Seat-of-the-pants meter says no more Edelbrock for me. When I stab it in 4th at LOW rpm (like 1500), it doesn't bog or stumble; it just goes. Likewise, there is no off-idle stumble or anything like that either. It just goes. Wide open throttle is just AWESOME. I can't wait to get it on the dyno. Could I just be imagining the better performance because I just want the Holley to not be a waste of money? B/C it feels great!!!.

EXCEPT when you can't get the choke set right and the thing doesn't like to start. Wich, by the way, is what happened this morning. I had to take my g/f's car to class.

Is it a manual choke? If so what's the problem? Maybe you just need a little "hand choke 101". They do take a bit of practice. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Nope, It's electric. It starts fine after you try to start it, then wait like an hour......

It comes with a manual choke. You buy the elec kit and install it.

Yeah, I've changed my mind about Holley Carbs since I changed to a stiffer Secondary spring. My tires are no longer safe .... I just need to work on that whole.... "Chevy" thing (this is on my truck.... its a 307 ).
