Very cool, Ash!! I've always wanted to see what kind of numbers Renee's 5.0 would produce in the quarter mile. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to coordinate with Steve, Mel, Tim, and Marcus and we'll make a day of it at Sac Raceway!Stewart

I was shocked to see that timeslip to say the least but I am happy for her!!! She did great!!! Even though I didnt get to race the '88 due to some probs I had even more fun playing "crew" as I didnt have to worry about breaking anything on my car . Oh yeah, I was the official timeslip holder too .------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Ashley, I too ran my first 1/4 mile drag race yesterday with my '70 mustang convertible with an extremely worn out '74 granada 302, C4, stock 4v, stock exausts, and 325 posi. I ran a best time of 16.01 and my best reaction time of .044. I let a friend co-drive and we made a total of nine passes with no problems. I used 94 octane fuel and had the timing one degree retarded behind the point of detonation. I had a ton of fun as we are rank amatures with this racing thing and just wanted to do it. I am also a registered nurse and I work in critical care areas. The knowledge gained from wrenching cars and understanding the physics behaind the multiple systems an a car(fluids, electrical, mechanical) puts me ahead of the others in understanding and using the high-tech equipment like ventilators and pacemakers. I enjoy going to work. Good luck with nursing and don't stop racing!Dave Gilbert [email protected]

I finally have gotten around to saying HOW PROUD I AM OF HER!!!!!!!!!!!! She did great and was truly excited about the whole days happenings. She wasn't even that upset when she lost in the second round (by only 4/100ths). The coolest part was when she cut (although a red) a .499 light (out of .500) so you can't get much better than that and still red light. She has great reactions and with time will become a good racer. I guess this means I need to start wrenching on the car more!! hehehe------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (under resto) 73 Mach 1 89 LX 2.3 convertible M&M Member #730

Lol, thanks Steve! My 60 foot times were worse than hers and my mph is still higher . Like I told her, she is making me work on the '88 because I am not letting her have a faster car than me! (credit card is ready to accept an a-trim ) I also have to go out to the strip sometime this weekend or next to get some better times with more traction at Sac (and newer bigger tires) . ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Tim, I'm razzing you in the hopes of getting you to lower your ETs. I mean, what if an IROC guy were to sneak in here and read "1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction" in your signature? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC Ford. Yes, Steve(s), I know it is bad. I need to get back to the track to try and get some traction. Then I will run a shortbelt, bump the timing, and remove the air silencer. The gear install is coming, I promise .------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html
