For the Bay area racers, Searspoint will be closing for bracket racers late July and will re-open (hopefully) by Thanksgiving. The good news is they are building the new dragstrip! No more uphill starting line or speed bumps, hopefully. If you hold a season pass, they will reimburse you or apply a credit to next season. Sac. Raceway has added another Summit et series race on Labor day. We'll see some of you in Sacramento during the heat of summer. SteveW

Hopefully the Stang will be ready in time to get a few runs before it closes. Sac is a long way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be running by the end of the month.

Jas,I hear that! Sac. has Friday night test-n- tune, Wednesday night brackets, and some race on most weekends. Good luck with the stang, let me know when and I'll join you. I can't be seen hanging around your "other" car though, I've got a reputation to uphold. SteveW

I had just told Larry yesterday that I wanted to get to Sac on Friday the 29th for the test and tune night....I'll have the night off from work. I guess I'm screwed for going to the track for a while if Sears is not gonna open back up for a while since I work weekends, I have to request weekend days off and it's a pain in the *** . The problem with Wednesday nights at Sac is that it's geared towards real street cars and imports. They have a sound rule of 90db at 50' at wide open throttle....lol....maybe if I leave it on the trailer and drag it with the truck! We measured the Comet when I first fired it with the 460 and it was 100db at 50' at 3500 rpm with 4" Flowmasters....NHRA's spec is 98db for the muffled classes, though I doubt alot of them could pass at 98db. I plan on running it uncorked on the 29th. I figure with the tunnel ram and no muffs, if the air is good I might get my 9 second motor pass if all goes well....we'll see. Thanks for the info Steve....hope to see you there next week. ------------------ Butch 460 powered 1967 Comet Cyclone 10.271 @ 130.069 Butcher's Home Page "Friends don't let friends drive Chevys"
