I have a damaged set of 4V heads (1 chamber chopped up in the exhaust area) My machine shop tells me they have some really good welding rods that would repair the damage. It will cost me around A$500. Another set of heads is between A$800 - A$1000. I have already invested money into the existing heads (spring seats, pedestals etc) Should I spend ~ A$1500 to prepare another set, or ~$600 and get the existing ones fixed. Also, could something happen to the weld causing it to dislodge Paul

Good welds are generally stronger than any original casting Paul. I would get some referances and/or testimonials. I have repaired many heads with great success. I also have access to a fantastic welder and one with an oven and years of experiance. Better to spend a little on quality welding and repair than to spend another 100 hours in porting and flow time. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Thanks Alex, Even though I enjoyed doing the work on the heads I have, I don't really want to go through it all again.Paul
