The girly man gears and open rear have got to go. I'm looking for 3.80-4.11 gears and a differential, preferably in an assembled 3rd member, but all the parts is okay too. Please either respond here or email me at [email protected]. Thanks!

Well I'd definately prefer a 9" rear. Is this a complete rear? What's it out of? ie how wide is it? Email me and let me know. Thanks!------------------ Neal Member #723 [email protected] AIM: MrWesson22 69 Gulfstream Aqua Grande 351C/Toploader 4sp

That "4.63" chunk (should be 4.62) was the reason for my post in the ford racing forum. However, I've emailed the guy - he doesn't know yet whether its open, trac-loc, locker, spool. I am going to bid on it if it's not open/spool, but if you want it go for it. I don't want to bid you up either - do me a favor and email me and let me know what you'd pay. If your max is higher than mine, I won't bid you up.Once upon a time I had a complete 4.62 detroit locker chunk, but I sold it. The car was a daily driver then and I planned on keeping it that way - too bad I can't get that one back.

Neal I think it maybe to much gear for my stock 351w.I'm still thinking about it if i can get it for $60 or less, that is.It's all your for now,if I do go after it I'll check with you 1st.I'm looking for somewhere around 3.55to3.80 posi no spools. If you run across any let me know, and I'll do the same for you. There was 8"4.11 gears only for sale onebay too,it was going for $75.00.Just type in 4.11 on ebay parts section it will come up.Thanks Neal good luck.------------------ 65 coupe,351w,RPM intake,Carter625,shorty headers,2.5 exhaust, Flowmasters,C4,open 8" 2:80,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,Crager SS,Black Suede. The ebay 4.63 8" looks like an open rear to me. The T-Loc uses smaller ring gear bolts that are counter-sunk into the case cover.Of course, you could always buy something like this and simply swap in a new Detroit Locker differential for around $400 or so. 8" rear end parts are NOT cheap. T-locs are few and far between. Trucks often came with t-loc rears (most of which had 9" rears) so 9" t-locs are fairly commmon. Trucks never had 8" rears, so the only way you get a t-loc is if someone custom ordered one in a car.... which is not very common in the "cheap" car lines 8" diffs came in. Good Luck finding one, you'll need it! You better start saving your pennies for either an aftermarket Detroit Locker, or a 9" conversion. Good Luck! ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367

Mike, Actually 8" t-loc rears were common in mustang IIs. So they are out there, just hard to come by. I'm not about to put $400 into an 8" rear, but hopefully something will come along to hold me over until I can get a good 9".

Haha Alex! Believe me, I know you do. If I still had that complete chunk with the gears and locker, it would be great, but I think the 4.62s will be too much. Any tire that would let me hook that much gear would also let me frag that 8" all over the track.

Yes, I did. I still want to go 9" but was just thinking of getting some decent gears/locker for an 8" to hold me over. If I can get something cheap, I'll go for it, but I think at this point I'll just save my $$$ unless something comes my way.
