I have the Autolight 4300 on a 302 that I can't seem to get operating corectly. The engine dies or almost dies just coming off of idle. It also leaks at the forward lip by the fuel filter. I'm thinking of going to a holley 4150 with the vacuum secondaries/600 cfm/electric choke. I'm open for sugestions. Thanks!

Autolite 4300 carbs are famous for being hard to get running right. A Holley or an Autolite 4100 would be a great improvement.

Thanks Steve, I rebuilt the 4300 autolite once and it didn't help much. I'm just looking for a trouble free setup as posible. I do not have any plans to do too many modifications to the car. Thanks again, Scott

4300 Autolites like to eat accelerator pumps.

I'm installing a holley hly-0-80457s elec choke and vacuume secondarys from the autolite 4300. Engine 302 with the C4 transmition. (1)The 3/8 od power brake or PVC vacuum port on the carb: Should this be caped since my power brakes are pulling air off the intake manifold? (2)The full manifold vacuum port: do I reconnect the exhust manifold line to this? (3) I bought the holley P/N 20-91 spring and perch kit: I installed the part but what do I hook up to it and how do I adjust the kickdown screw for proper operation? I'm trying to find the proceedure in the factory manual with no luck so far. (4) what is a good source for switched 12v for the electric choke?
