Getting ready to install the 67 Fog light kit that Nic (65DARKHORSE) very kindly smuggled in for me on his last trip here !I was curious if anybody would be interested on a feedback from this install. In which case I will take pictures and make up diagrams to (try to) clarify, among others, the electrical wiring issues ? (I will be trying to get as close as possible to the original set-up of the factory Fog Light install) Guys, let me know

OK ! Just spent about 5 hours on the whole job and honestly it wasn't as bad as expected. The following is valid for 67. 65's are slightly different. I will post the 65 diagram web link at the end of the postIf you email me at [email protected] , I will email you back the pictures of the key area and a hand drawn wiring diagram Items needed: Fog light bars (2) Support brackets for bars (2) Bulbs (2) Housing (comes with pig tail wires)(2) Firewall to Fog light Harness (1) Underdash switch (1) Underdash Harness (1) Circuit breaker (1) All hardware is included Overall cost: 270$ .....and doesn't even come with a single diagram The two brackets hold the bars in a different location (further outward along the grille, closer to the head light). They bolt right in as the grille has pre-drilled holes. (see picture) The Firewall to fog light harness is actually composed of 2 set of wire (see diagram). One grounds both bulbs the other one bring the 12V from under the dash to the bulbs. The ground wire should be attached to the bottom of the grille. The 12 volt wire (going to FW) will run outside of the main harness and this is what will tell people that this is not an original installation .....Unless you are ready to re-cover the main harness. I didn't go that far . They are 4 things to know for the dash board side of the install: - The FL switch goes RIGHT below the ignition switch (see picture). Its 3 way connector goes straight to the underdash harness. - The +12V , power of the system, is collected by the underdash harness from a blue wire with black stripe (single connector female type) that was factory taped to the main harness right where the brake light switch wires exit the harness ( about 5" from the fuse box) => see diagram. That wire goes directly to the battery without going through the ignition switch so you can turn FL on without the ignition key in. - When you turn on the lights, the tail lights go on too. So +12V must be sent to these lights. The connector for that is located about 2" away from the head light switch connector (see picture) and connects to the underdash harness. This black wire with single female connector is also factory taped to the wires branching off from the main harness toward head light switch. - The last issue -this one I didn't solve- is where the circuit breaker was originally attached to ? On 65's it goes on the fuse box I believe but I couldn't find out for 67's....may be someone else can help here ? Now, all you have left to do is connect the wires as indicated on my diagram: its easy the NPD wires come with the original colors which matched the colors of the wires in my dash One last thing, messing with the dash board wires can be messy so verify that all connectors are properly inserted (no bare metal showing !!), check all other connectors to make sure none got accidentally disconnected. And as a last precautions, I used an ammeter between the battery and its main wire when came time to turn it on just to make sure that there was no shorts FYI: each FL bulb consums about 3 amps Hope this is clear,if not it should be with with pics & diagram 66/65's diagram: http://www.hammar.dyndns.org/~djhamma/wiring/66exter.jpg Check top left corner of diagram 66's are different as they take their power from another wire (Black & yellow), the FL to FW wire runs on the passenger side ! Aside from that the rest seems identical

Pierre - I'd like the pics please. Nice job with the instructions! I'm considering Fog Lights for my '67 as well. Also, I'll build a page on my site with your instructions and pictures if you'd like. Full credit to you if you want (beware it may cause increased emails to you). Let me know... Brian

No problem about using these infos on your site, no particular need to mention my name, give my work email for questions if you want. Diagram is a little messy though . I can draw a cleaner version if you want

Replying my own quote ...Just found out that the circuit breaker on 67 originally bolted to the wind shield wiper motor. Can't tell you exactly where but there can't be to many spots

Yes the C/B bolts to the wiper bracket on the side next to the tranny hump. Mine has two c/b's there. The other one was for a seatbelt warning light under the dash. The light was gone so I took the c/b out. There was about 4 or 5 little screw holes in the bracket where they go. You can see it better from the pass. side floor looking up that way. ------------------ 1967 GT Fastback S code, C6, 4:56, tubbed, 10 point cage. 1998 GT Convert.(sold 11/29/03) Mesh Grille, Air Silencer Trimmed Automatic, 3:73 FRPP Gears, Mac Girdle, Moser Axles Griggs Sub's, Welded/Plated Torque Boxes, Strut Tower Brace, Strange 10way Struts, MM HD lower control arms, Rear air bags ProStars 15x10 w/295/50/15, 15x4 w/P195/75/15 and ARP Studs, 9/16" spacers
