I just got it home. The rear frame by the torque boxes are shot, the d/s floor/rocker/torque box are toast, but the body is excellent and the engine runs like a champ. I've got finish my 64.5 soon so I can start on that over the winter.I can't wait.

Congrats on your *new* ragtop. My dream is to restore a 66 raptop; I'm waiting to find one that already has the structural work done; I don't have the welding skills for that. I hear a lot of stories about people spending several $1000's of dollars to get the structural work done.

Do you have someone to who will do the work? Keep us posted on your plans and progress!

I was looking for one w/o frame rust too, but up here(Ct.) they're hard to find. When you find a rusty shell, people usually want 4-5K 'cause it's a ragtop. This one was asking 4,500 and I talked him down a grand. The car is an automatic,289 car with power steering and full console. The body and top itself is in excellent shape, but it needs work underneath.
I have a wire-feed welder and a newly purchased arc welder(I also bought the "Kel-Arc" spot weld gun from Eastwood)that I plan to "Learn the Hard Way" with. I've never welded before, but I have a friend who is willing to help. Wish me luck in my endeavour.

DocVoodoo, I bought a car from a guy up there a couple years ago. For me, it's about an hour and a half to Mustangs Unlimited.
Now all I need is a 65 Fastback to round out the mix.(64.5coupe,66convertible)*G* SWMBO would kill me if I bring home another pony.
