put a new motorcraft 2 bbl with elec. choke, adjusted the timing, new plugs and wires, new wiring for ignition and this car flys.want to thank everyone who helped me answer my questions mainly about wiring my choke to the coil. since i ran it to another power source it fires on the first hit. ok that out of the way, have an aod question. my shift pattern is p-r-n-od-d-2 i use overdrive for regular driving like to work and around town and drop into drive whenever im going up a hill. is this the correct procedure for an aod? also would like to put a different shifter and shift kit in can this be done with an aod? what are the pros and cons to this,or should i just let it be(if its not broke dont fix it) has come to mind a few times. would appreciate any responses. thanks

Thats the way I'd drive it.And yes you can put a shift kit in it now.Lentech "sp" has a valve body kit that will give you 1st 2nd 3rd and OD. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

OD is for speeds of 55mph +, but I use mine the same way you do and have never had a problem. Heck, I don't even down shift for hills unless I have extra weight with me.------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger
