I know one good way to make a car faster is to have grip...So I'm considering drag radials next time I need tires. First off, if I stick with normal radials up front, and drag radials out back, how will the handling change? It would be better if I could rotate tires, so drag radials on all four would be nice...but again, do they handle good or not? Also, what about mileage? How long will they last compared to other tires? Lastly, what drag radials/tires would you suggest? I want to keep it pretty cheap.

BFG's are the cheapest I've found. You don't use them in the front. They will not handle in the rain as good as your tires do now. They last about half as long if that.I would not use them for long trips all the time.Keep your tires you have now for running around and going on the highway.Get the drag tires for racing or cruise nights.Just my opinion. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

Are there any drag tires out there that will handle fine and can be used up front? And last long? I doubt I can get all this in one tire, but it would be nice

Nope, the same properties that make them grab well make them wear out faster.Get a second pair of wheels and take 7 minutes to change them. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

I probably will just get a second pair of wheels with slicks, but its just not the same if I can launch hard as hell when some ricer pulls up to me at a stoplight...on the street. lol

If the ricers around there are anything like the ones around here, you don't need to. You could sit at the light, wait on it to turn green, reach down and get a little Coke, then go and still blow by him just as you're shifting into second.

Being on a budget I just get the regular BFG Radial T/A's. Everyone makes "S" rated GT tires but I only buy tires every couple years making comparison difficult. For a full time driver them drag radials must get expensive. You could save $50 on two bargan basement front tires, spend another $225 on your BFG rear "Slicks" and then have to buy wheels to run them on part time. ...now that I think about it though if you only drive your car 3,000 miles a year a set of drag T/A's MIGHT last three years. They wouldn't cost extra since regular tires dry rot anyway. AND, if its a part time vehicle you probably won't drive in the rain so the thin tread won't matter much. So, I dunno.

I drive it all the time on the weekends. I wont be driving in the rain. I guess some drag radials would work since I dont drive it daily, but how long will they last? Including the occasional burn out to heat them up of course.

I have heard that they last about 4000-10000 miles.Depending on how you drive. I know when I put a pair of good old BFG's on.They made a difference in traction, but now I need more traction.I've been looking every where for some cheap real good hooking tires. No luck yet,so the only thing left is to go and buy the good ones.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
