I have just put a 351W in a 66 mustang. What would be a good radiator for my Mustang at a good price? Thanks for your help.------------------ 66 coupe 351W C-6

If it's a $100 motor than buy a Modine 3 core. They work well for stock stuff.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." I love this quote Alex: "Todd, if you've got a $200 motor, then get a $200 radiator" He's not saying invest dollar for dollar in the cooling system, but just how much is your motor worth? None of us are made of money (certainly not me, at least), but are you willing to gamble your car's powerplant on a Taiwaneese made discounted heat exchanger? ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html [This message has been edited by V8 Thumper (edited 02-14-2003).]

If that's what I got to spend that's ok. I have alot of time and money in it. I just want to know what one is good for the money. I only want to do this once. The car will see alot of cruiseing and some drag racing. I just don't want to send 600.00 to 1000.00 dollars and it not keep it cool. Thanks again Robert

Hey Robert, Check these guys out: http://www.griffinrad.com/ - they're not the cheapest, but in my opinion they do make a good piece for the $$. Call them if you any questions, I got good customer service from them. They'll also make you a custom unit if need be. I think I paid about $450 for my custom piece a few years ago... GOOD LUCK! www.smithsradiator.com or [email protected] or 765-478-5325. Look at MM's pics on the photo page or Todds 66. Both have Smith's custom units.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Take the measurements you need and get a Griffin "NASCAR" series radiator. http://www.griffinrad.com/winstoncup.htm they are only $180.00 from summit and work flawless in a street car. Several of us bargain hunters on here have used them with much success. Only thing is that if you run an auto trans you will need to buy a seperate cooler for the trans because these dont have provisions for it but then again, you should be doing that anyway

what all was involved in putting a 351W in your 66? did you have to modify any linkage, such as gas lines, etc? i want to do this to my car, but dont know what is involved..

You need the 351w alt brackets, and you may have to change the fuel line. But that stuff is easy.Other wise for the most part it bolts right in.It is a tight fit so little things like header botls and sparks take alittle longer.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

As Scoop said its not to bad. I did end up useing 69 manifolds as I have not found any long tube headers for it. Headman and Hooker make some headers that fit but I don't think thay are long tube. And as I have heard on here if you can't put a long tube header on you might as well stick with your stock manifold's

what i've heard is that your stock headers wont fit without modification to the shock towers.

I did not put the motor in my car it already had it.I did add the headers and many other things to it.As well as replacing the motor mounts.I basically had to take the motor out fix all the half *** stuff and then put it all back together.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
