Has anybody ever wired up their Mustang with any of the Universal wiring kits from places like Painless Wiring? I'm talking the kind that have the 12 or 18 circuit fusebox, and all the wiring and relays. My '70's wiring is starting to get crappy, and I was thinking of replacing the whole thing with a new universal kit in a while. I ask this since most of the wiring from '70's isn't available. Plus the kit is way cheaper than the new looms in the catalogs.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

Gary I have not done it yet.But thats the way I will go to when I get to it.I did help my Father Inlaw rewire his 55 P/U.The kit from painless worked great. It was made for his truck. All the wires are labled all the way down the wire.Made it real easy to do. Which kit are you thinking about using?

Scoop, I was just going to go witht he universal kit they have list in the Summit cataog for somthing like $300 or so. I was thinking of going with the 18 circuit kit just to have room to expand later on down the line. I was also thinking of using it in my '46 pickup since it has an older reproduction cloth loom harness in it. Then maybe in the rest of my fleet, like my '57 and '47.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic [This message has been edited by 70SportsRoof (edited 02-07-2003).]

Gary thats the kit I would use too. I like the idea of being able to expand if needed. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
