What kind of thread sealer do you like to use.For water pump, timing cover bolts. The old bolt I took out of the pump and some of the timing cover bolts are rusted bad and cant be reused. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs

I don't use anything exotic on water pump bolts. If they are "in the gasket" or used to plug a hole like in the thermostat housing, I've put a little silicon on the threads. Then I worried about my torque values being right

Something that works good on bolting that threads into through holes is a Teflon Based Pipe Sealant Paste. You do need to use torque values for lubricated bolts when you use sealants, they are typically 30% less than no-lubricated values.------------------ Ronnie 69 mach1 351W-4V engineless at the time! 70 Torino GT 351C-4v with a "shaker" Mustangs and More Member #23
