That's a great looking car Good jobJust technical curiousity regarding the efficiency of hood scoops in general: it seems to me that a feature like this would improve performance at low speed by bringing fresher air but that turbulences & air pressure would disturb it at high speed .....no ?

Thanks a lot Steve.I wish I had some better quality pictures but I'll have to wait until summer.Pierre I haven't tested my "turkey pan" ram air at the strip yet but I will this summmer.I love the 68 1/2 cobra jets so I had the hood stripe painted on, along with the scoop.I figured everyone would want me to open the hood to see the big block but the cars are so rare nobody around here even knows about these cars.(I live in a GM town)The car was a very nice original rust free driver from Atlanta Georgia and it was brought up to Canada in the late 80s.I have owned it since 1990.------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker

Thanks for the kind words guys.I get lots of comments on my turkey pan.If you can imagine below the turkey pan is a cookie sheet to give it some support since its only tinfoil. The wife is still looking for that.LOL. I was just using the turkey pan for a mockup, but I was afraid anything stronger would dent the hood with the engine torqueing over so I just left it on.The tinfoil definetly won't hurt anything if I break a mount or something.

Mustangboy, I was looking at you pics and I did not see any drain holes in your turkey pan ram air set up. Is there one hid somewhere thats not shown in the pics? A little rain storm could destroy the engine if that pan cannot drain. ------------------ Ronnie 69 mach1 351W-4V engineless at the time! 70 Torino GT 351C-4v with a "shaker" Mustangs and More Member #23

I think your turkey pan is a great and cheap idea. I did see the cookie sheet under the pan,I wasn't going to say anything about it. You could make one at of alum or use a large stock air cleaner base.Take the snokle part off and seal it over.Put a smaller air cleaner lid over it and some foam to seal to the hood. Get yourself a torque over strap, out of chain, cable,or what ever. Then you wont have any worries about the motor mounts.------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

There aren't any drain holes in the turkey pan but don't worry the car never sees any rain. Also I run a normal air cleaner set up most of the time.Scoop I haven't got a torque strap on it yet.Its not that easy because I have power steering so the bolt hole is used up in the front of the head and the strap would also hit against the back of the power steering pump.I'm thinking of the bolt through the motor mount trick or something like that.------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker
