There is a brief appearence of a Mustang in the new TV ad for 'Pepsi Blue.' It shows several old muscle-cars hot-rodding down a dark city street, and one of the cars appears to be a '69 Shelby GT convertible. If you look closely however, it is really a 71 or 72 convertible that has been painted with the 69 Shelby side stripes, complete with the side brake scoops. It actually looks pretty good like that.------------------

Classic Mustangs are by far the most common cool older car you see in commercials, tv shows, and movies. If a director wants to give someone a touch of class or style, they stick them in a Mustang! ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

Since I first saw that commercial, I have 'discovered' the existence of the 1971 version of the 'Shelby-Europa' models availible only in Europe. That is what appears to be in the commercial we are talking about. It is basically a 71-style convertible with 'Shelby' lower side-brake scoops, 1969-'Shelby' style side stripes and the 2-piece Kelsy-Hayes 'Magstar' wheels. It looks surprisingly good with this trim on it. I'm wondering how 'official' of a 'Shelby' it really is. Considering that Carroll Shelby will whore-out his name and reputation to anybody with a few nickels to offer him, they probably have his officail 'stamp of approval' on them.
