I want to have a summer cruzer.I was thinking that 351W, T-5 3.73 with posi. has any one done this combo,What kit did you use? or DId you fabericate the pars your self. I heard the trans mount and crossmember can be reused. Is the possible for this combo. any ideas or tips.I have most of these parts still need the bell housing for the T-5.

The 302 with T-5 I put into my '66 fastback,, fit perfectly.. Just a little trimming for the gear shift (very little)..MustangsPlus has all the information and extra pieces and parts you will need.. Like the tranny Crossmember that bolts right up.. I also put their Cable Clutch system in,, very simple conversion.. My 302 was out of an '85 5.0 GT so it had the newer bellhousing..

'69-'73 351w toploader bell with CPC adapter plate on the back and CPC crossmember. Use '66 stamped frame brackets and saddle style motor mounts, either Lakewood Muscle motor mounts or Sealed Power. If you use cheap aftermarket mounts with z-bar linkage you'll get clutch chatter on firm launches. Realize 351w is a bit strong on torque for the T5-Z so take it easy or you'll be buying a lot of T5 parts. Also use '69 starter with nine teeth and 164 tooth flywheel. Clutches to 11" long style will work fine. I have basically this installation in my '65 with 302 Motorsport...fits perfectly, no trimming. I really think you'd be better off with Tremec TKO due to the 351w especially since you indicate you want trac-lok... [This message has been edited by Jeff (edited 11-27-2002).]

I have a 351W and a T5 in my 68. It wasn't that bad really. A new tranny crossmember and mount, and the RMP cable kit are the biggest items I bought (besides headman swap headers). I used the T5 bellhousing too. Luckily, I didn't have to lengthen or shorten my driveshaft.------------------ Hoofbeats are louder than Heartbeats! 68 Coupe, now with a 351W and 5speed.
