Hey Folks,Steve here in Southern Oregon.First of all, Geat Site!! My wife ha sjust given me a 65'Coupe for Christmas. COOL!!It,s a bone stock 6 cylinder. Not too much more.It is currently down to the carcass no doors etc. Friends owned it for over 10 years.Replaced a few things,tank,carb.,dist.,rad.But mainly let everything else go.When we got it home I had to use a "Raid Bug Bomb" on the interior. It was full of Brown Recluse/ Black Widow Spiders.Incidently we brought it home on a Roll-Back.No way would we drive it!!When it was put up on stands the steering was about to the ground, and Fred Flinstone would have had a great time trying to stop it!!And my Buddies wife still drove it!! It will be great once again but may take some time. The 65' was painted a "true" Gold. But it turns out the car was actually "Honey Gold Metallic" Once we saw the color we have decided to go to "Ivy Metallic".At least keep it a 65' color. But that "Honey Gold Met."had no Gold that we could see.WAAZZUUP with that? Anyway no running gear change is in store. The Missus wants to keep it as original as possible. But I guess that is redundant if we're changing colors.I am also trying to find some 14"x6 4 lug steel wheels so we can get a better selection of tires.Any Suggestions?Besides F.O.A.D.Anyway, keep on cruzin and have a good one. Steve"The Desertrat"

Welcome! You've just acquired two new addictions. A Mustang and M&M!My first classic stang was a 65 Honey Gold. I loved that car. Sold it in 1988. It recently resurfaced and I hear it is now resale red! If you are going to change the color of your pony, at least you chose a nice color - our 66 is Ivy Green. Come back and post often. Show us photos of your progress. J.

I saw that car in person a couple years ago and it was very nice. It has a very clean look to it.

Yo're right it Is a Great color!!!!Just may have to fo back original. My little Coupe deserves the best! Now, to convince my Wife!I imagine that the 65 will go back to her when it is done. She does not like driving our 2000 Dodge Ram Q-Cab 1500 TOOO BIG She says. This Lil 6cyl. is right up her alley.Me I'm into Big Bocks myself.I will probably finish my 72'Skylark,and build the 455 as I can.You won't see many of those around and they are sharp.Sorry I am notBrand Loyal.I like any American Car with a history/reputation!!:D:D Desertrat Says:Peoples suspicions are only arroused by our Actions! Thanks Wrong end eh?Well,We Backwoods folks are okay too!.Pretty quiet in these parts.Love the scenery. The drive to Grants pass sucks! We're 27miles south on 199 and alot of Log trucks and Motor Homes otherwise known as"ROLLING ROADBLOCKS" So it gets quite interesting to negotiate the roads in the summer. Looking at your list of Mustangs makes me Crazy!!Well best be going.
