I'm going to try and do a compression test on motor.Why I hook up the remote starter do I have to disconect the 'I'and 'S' wires.
I really want to see what kind of compression this motor is making.I'm not sure I can even get the test to all the holes.

'I' being ignition, you don't want the motor starting up while you've got your head under the hood I pull the coil wire off too. Safety first 'S' is the starter switch, and you're taking its place with the remote.

I've always done compression checks with the motor at running temp and the carb butterflies wide open. That way you get the most accurate readings possible
