I'm not looking for a high dollar rebuilt just a low buck simple rebuild.Dose it matter if you get one from an Auto parts store or mail order or local shop???
My pops is ready to buy his 351w for his 23-T kit car.
We are looking for something around -or under $1500 for a long block.

What kind of power would a motor like this put out.
I would say around 250hp???

Hey Scoop,

Try PAW. I recall SteveW got his 351W kit from them. Their previous setup ran into the 12s or 11s right?

I was going to go that route, but found my new motor elsewhere.

Here's something I did once. I purchased a long block from Auto Zone and swapped the cam out for a Comp 268H. Added Edlebrock intake, holley carb and headman headers and it ran great. I caught the engine on sale for $599. Autozone doesnt carry engines anymore but Advance does.

Erik,

PAW is a kit and ours had about $1800 of extras (about 3500 total). They sent rings that didn't fit the pistons, and wouldn't refund them, etc. Their customer service sucked and if something goes wrong you're on your own. I'll never buy from them again.
