I see people on this board talking about stub stacks, carb spacers, 2.84 planetary transmission gears, and shift improver kits. I looked all of them up on the internet and they all seem like small, cheap things (except for the gears). If I was to get a k&n stub stack, a 1 or 2 inch carb spacer, and a B&M shift improver kit, how much will this change my car (more hp at different rpm?, quicker shifts?)? And how much does this all cost? If someone could explain planetart transmission geats to me, I would appreciate it, because I had never heard about it until this board. Thanks ------------------ 1967 Mustang coupe originally a c-code 289 with a c-4 tranny, I added holley 600cfm 4bbl, edelbrock performer intake manifold, hooker competition headers, and dual 3 chamber flowmaster exhaust exterior is acapulco blue with black vinyl top interior is stock with a kenwood cd player goal is to have a streetable muscle car that can run with a late model cobra mustang

It gives your transmission a lower first gear ratio and subsequently your car a tremendous mechanical advantage off the line. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." These items I too have only read about or heard about."k&n stub stack, a 1 or 2 inch carb spacer"I did try a 1" four hole spacer and swear it made a difference. But maybe it was just wishful thinking. The spacer do for a fact help with starting the car when it's hot.Because the spacer helps to keep heat out of the carb. And the spacer are real easy to install and under $30.The STUB STACK I just put on my car.I dont think it did a thing. But I'll test it on Sat at the track. And let you know if it helped or not.If it helps out even alittle it's worth the $34.00 I paid for it. Now a shift kit will or can shave off some time in the 1/4mile by giving you quicker shifts. And it makes the car alot more to drive.Chirping 2nd is always fun. I think the shift kit is well worth the money. My trans guy tells that trans will live longer with firmer quicker shifts. I'm still learning here too.SCOOP ------------------ 2.634 60's [email protected] 1/8 mile 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

A low gear set will NOT cause you to lose any top end speed or power. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." The Low Planetary Gear set is for FIRST gear in the tranny. It will not change top end gearing.
