It gives new meaning to the phrase from the famous Ronnie and the Daytonas song "three duesces and a 4-speed". We got pics.
and....of course there is a story to go along with.

Yes, that car was at the MCA 25th anniv. show in Georgia, and was inside the vendor building at Charlotte. It was also featured in Mustang & Fords a year or two ago I think.

I think the Boss '9 tri-power was made about the same time (and in the same quantity- less than a dozen) as the Cleveland tri-power. I assume the intake had an XE part number.... Ricky Smith once had a set of dual plug (factory) Boss 429 heads and a 4-weber intake. I think it came from the 494 can-am program....

Wow, now that is cool Is that an aftermarket manifold, or FoMoCo? I've never heard of 3x2 for a Boss, let alone seen one

We had a guy in our Mustang club who was the original owner of a '69 Boss '9. It was fire engine red and unmolested as far as mods. He bought it when he was 18 (can you imagine owning a new Boss at 18!!!). Anyway, drove it for four years before he managed to blow the engine. He scrimped and scrounged and built a NASCAR spec Boss '9 with a dual four barrel intake. It had an XE part number and was a single plane unit. The carbs were 625 cfm Carter AFB's. MAN ! ! ! was that car impressive ! ! ! Talk about time warp ! ! When ever he started it in his garage, the entire house shook. He also had an 1100 Dominator for it, but I never saw it on the car.------------------ MarkC ~ 1970 Mach 1 T-5 1965 Shelby Trans Am coupe (clone)

Wow! That looks stout! You probably make more horsepower with a single four barrel, you usually do. It'll impress the kiddies, though! ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150
