If you MUST go aftermarket I only have one suggestion. A Quiksilver from B&M. Installed one of those, no more missed shifts. It also looks great.

Nothing, but NOTHING beats a stock FoMoCO Mustang automatic shifter. I have one in MM and all of the race cars. All of the C-4 to AOD conversion I do get one. All of the race cars I build get one or I don't do the conversion. It is positive and mechanical with no cable to break or adjust. Once correctly modified, it is near impossible to miss a shift with a reverse pattern manual valve body. No brag, just fact! ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."

But if you don't have a stock one available and don't wnat to buy one from NPD, then I would use a LOKAR as they are also fully mechanical. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."

Alex do your trick set ups.For the stock shifter work on forward pattern too. I really like having the stock one.I only wish I could get it to stop between shifts.SCOOP ------------------

Hey Stan,A little off the subject, but I live right next door to you! Are you part of the BAMA group? I've met a few members at the Mustangs Plus car shows but can barely remember the names or faces. Just remember a white/blue stripe fastback and a redish/orangish coupe which I actually talked to the owner about. Wait a sec, I think you were the one who originally told me about BAMA a while ago?!? Maybe? with just a litle fileing, you can make an early model mustang shifter work great with a reverse pattern valve body. it actually works simpler than the cheeta that i have now.------------------ mike r racing is real everything else is just a game. 81 capri-7.51 @89mph 1/8 1.54 60 ft. http://prestage.com/site/site_display.asp?SiteID=141

The best $149 I ever spent on the Pony (with a C4) was the B&M Megashifter. Never missed a shift, easy install and trouble free.....that "Ratchet" saves an old man like me 3 to 4 tenths. You can make the stock style shifter work the same way in the forward pattern also. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
