ok guys as you may or not recall i have been trying to my engine to stop missing. Here is the short verision. I have a 351w/600cfm elbrock,c4,mollery elec igition. I have installed new plugs, wires, carb. I set the timming to 10 degress up from 8 deg. I have a cap and rotor on order oh and plug wires have been replaced. The engine was sitting for 11 years and i got it running. ok after i set the timming up from 8 to 10 i had a little better response. But i still have a low speed miss and it does not have the power i would expect. If you rasise the rpms the engine runs much better. I will be adjusting the idle mixture with a vacum gauge this week and most likely will advance the timing to 12. Also when engine get hot after 15 mins of on the road the missing or hestiation gets much worse at low speeds put in lower gear and it runs fine. Any ideas? It has been hot so i have not had the time to work on it much. ------------------ 68 mustang coupe(california special)not real though but looks it(will be nice) 351w/c4 My 68 Coupe [url=http://mustangsamdmore.50megs.com/ewokeric.html]

How old is the coil? Sometimes when a coil goes bad it will miss when it gets warm, and you will notice it much more at lower rpm's. If you have a spare coil laying around I would temorarilly hook it up and see if it solves the problem.

I'd suspect the coil, too.Can you stall the engine by blocking the air horn with your hand? ------------------ All Fords since 1977!

ok i am getting a new coil, but i put a vacum gauage on the manifold and i am only getting 14 to 16 inches. I tried adjusting the carb idle jets and could get no more. I also adjusted the timing which was at 10. When i adjusted the timing all the way up to 20btc the vacum came up to 20. I turned it back down to 14 and took for a spin seems a little better. I was wondering what you guys thought on the timing. When it was set at 10 it advanced to about 25 when i hit the accellerator. Also if you cover the carb intake the engine stalls right out. I think i have low compression as i have not done that as of yet. Will this weekend. The miss is still there but i will see what the new coil does. The needle also does flutter very little at 14 to 16.
