Amonia. Bad fumes, but gets the job done. Smoking leaves a bad film. Do you smoke...in the car??

Been told that vinyl dash pads give off a gas that causes a film. Not sure about that one.

We use a glass cleaner called ClearVue. It works pretty good. They best I've ever used was the GM stuff, it was incredible. The key is to use lots of towels, I think, so you are not smearing the old dirt around, but removing it.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1, '72 Mustang Sprint, '94 F-150 Pics MCA Member # 47773

Tight shirts on a grrl yes,but not on me. Steve a large would look like a half shirt on me. Not good. I have tried vinegar and newpaper. It seems like something. It dosen't get it all off.Now I no this in one of those things for me.I like my windows to be real clean.Just like I check the air in my tire alot too. Maybe it's just this area, because my pop's and pops inlaw both have the same problem. SCOOP

How about I just wait for the new shirts. Or I could just tatoo Mustangsandmore across my chest. And walk around with no shirt at all.SCOOP ------------------ 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

The trick to perfectly crystal-clear windows is to go over them a last time with a completely DRY cotten or paper towel after you've windexed/ammonia-d/vinegared/whatevered them. Any old glass cleaner will do for getting the majority of the funk off, but the only way to finish the job off without leaving a residue is to buff the glass with a totally bone-dry towel. It's no different than removing wax from your paint. I've seen people drive themselves nuts spraying and spraying and spraying their windows with a cleaner, when it's the dampness that's causing the problem all along. And yes, it's the chemicals "cooking" out of the vinyls in the interior that causes the haze over time.

Scoop,How about 'goo gone' or just a plain old razor blade? You could buy either one or both at Walmart or some hole in the wall hardware shop. Erik ------------------ 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Mine - Restomod in Progress 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Dad's - Original Unrestored

Use dish detergent solution first. Put bath towel over dash to keep it dry. Use washcloth in dish detergent solution and really clean the glass of all oil, gunge, etc. Dry with second bath towel. Then use Windex or competitive glass cleaner and cheap paper towels to get traces of dish detergent solution and bath towel lint.
