i bought some new spark plugs and wires and dist, cap, rotor, etc. yesterday and i put all the plugs in on the right side of the engine first and everything was fine. then i go to the pass. side(left side) and i cant get a socket on the plug because it hits the exhaust manifold. what is this about? my 65 didnt have this problem, but for some reason this 66 fastback has a prob. with this. is there any tool i can use to remove the plugs or do i have to remove my exhaust mainfold? any sugg? thanks.------------------ 66 fastback 289 C4 w/shiftkit and B&M Pro Stick shifter holley 650 carb edlebrock performer intake 3.80 w/ posi under rider traction bars and front anti sway bar american racing torque thrust wheels

Are you saying the socket is to wide to fit.Or is it that the socket will not go over the plug becuase there is not enough clearnce? There is a spark plug socket that has one side cut out of it.So it can fit around things better. I had the same problem. A thinwall socket took care of the issue for me. Good luck!------------------ Jerry Member number: I forget (Help Steve?) www.67Fastback.com "The danger in communication is the illusion that it has been accomplished." G.B. Shaw
