I'm thinking of ading a deep pan on my new C-4.It's an art car unit and it hold an extra 2qts.Do these pan really help cool the trans.
And should I worry about it hanging down to low as in hitting stuff. My 65 is and will not lowered.
And I want to install a trans cooler too.Can I disconnect the trans from the rad,and just run it to the trans cooler. Is that enough to keep it cool even at a stop.I want to install the trans cooler infront of my rad,in the lower section. My black magic fan pulls alot of air i think it would pull some air past the trans cooler too.

Sorry for the long post,by now you guys should know I dont do anything fast.

SCOOP...Thanks for the help.

definately run the pan. the extra oil helps keep the trans cool as does the fins built into the pan. as for the trans cooler, i like to use the very large coolers especialy if i am not using the cooler built into the rad. use a trans cooler rated for 18,000 lbs gvw at a minimum. use the rad cooler as well. this will keep the trans temp consistant, and will help warm it up on a cold day.

Hey Fellas,

I was planning on adding a transmission cooler as well and I was wondering if it mattered if the transmission cooler was rated higher, say 20,000gvw or 22,000gvw? What exactly do these numbers mean? And is a higher number better or worse? It seems the prices are all similarly close with all the different models.

Regards,

Erik
