I just painted my 69 Mach candy apple red with flat black hood and tail light panel. The red color sanded and buffed out real nice, but I see a run on the tail light panel. Can the flat black be sanded and buffed without making it gloss ? Any advise helpful - thanks.

No, you'll need to sand it down and respray. The matte finish is a surface effect.

But Scoop, YOU just go down to the local hardware/automotive store and pick up a can or two of black primer
(and let me tell you, your car looks great like that, gives it the true muscular/beefy look!)
