I just painted my 69 Mach candy apple red with flat black hood and tail light panel. The red color sanded and buffed out real nice, but I see a run on the tail light panel. Can the flat black be sanded and buffed without making it gloss ? Any advise helpful - thanks.

No, you'll need to sand it down and respray. The matte finish is a surface effect.------------------

Thanks Steve - I was afraid that would be the case, but it must be done

Sorry, but it won't be that big an area, right? Relatively easy to mask off, too. Trying to make you feel better... ------------------

But Scoop, YOU just go down to the local hardware/automotive store and pick up a can or two of black primer (and let me tell you, your car looks great like that, gives it the true muscular/beefy look!) ------------------ Dan~ 1965 Coupe "BeeBop" 200ci Straight "6"~2.77 3-spd w/Hurst Shifter~Pertronix Elec.
