I was always under the impression that a 351w was a tad wider than a 289/302 and would not fit in a 65/66 without some mods. I have also heard that it fits with no mods. at all. Any info on this will be greatly appretiated. Thanks Dave

Many of our members have this set up. It's a little tight around the headers but otherwise is a good swap.

Check out member Dan Jones' excellent article on the subject from our archives:

Dave, welcome the motor fit the plugs are not fun to change and the header bolts the are a real pain. But parts are easy to find and getting more cheap ever day.
I used the headman header they are only $99.from summit racing.I kept my 65 motor mounts they morked just fine.Hood clearence is a factor.Well not for my now.
And you need different brackets for your Alt.Put its an easy and worth while swap.

David,
Welcome to M&M, the 351 in a 65 fits, but it is tight. Good luck on the swap. Visit Sams Place & introduce yourself.
