i was thinking creatively earlier and was wondering what 67 shelby taillights would look like on my 65 coupe. (the rectangular lights, like on gone in 60 seconds). do u guys think they would be hard to install?i wouldnt think so. any comments on this idea. i think it would be a good mod for my coupe since it is going to be a restomod. thanks. if anyone could somehow compose a pic of whta this would look like on a 65 coupe that would be great. what do u guys think?

Actually, an experimental early Shelby had 65 T-bird aka 68 Shelby tailights. M&Fords did a how to a few years ago. They used 3 65 tailight bodies per side and used 68 lenses and frames. Looks very good. Considered doing it but decided not to. As for 67, it is a single cut out per side. If you had the complete assemblies it shouldn't be too hard.

It does look good. My friend had it on his 65 coupe. I always thought it looked slick. He also had the gas cap that snapped in place rather than screwed on. I would take a pic for you but he ran out of money and sold the car years ago.

'67 Shelbys used '67 Cougar tailights minus the ornamental grille. '68 Shelbys used '65 T-bird tailights. The '68 Shelbys were produced by FORD Motor Company and not Carroll Shelby.
