Ok let me get some opinions on what motor for my pops T-bucket project. We need to start to get the frame ready and order a motor.Should we go with a 302 alum head motor.Or the 351w motor, both will be crate motors.the 302 saves us enough money to get a better trans. In such a lite car im thinking it will be enough power with the 302 motor. On the trans we are thinking of a AOD or C4 the Aod would allow for more gears like 3:80.A traction lock is a must.It has a 9" not sure of gears in it now or year.Where is a good place to a crate motor. Thanks for the help. Please any and all info is helpful.
Ron

Ron,

My buddy did a '29 with a 5.0/aod, and a nine inch rear. It works awesome! Henry would have been proud.
Whatever he does don't let him stink the place up with a chebby powerplant!

Steve have not seen you around latey. To make along story short. He got this T project used with a 350/350 combo in it.Before we even got to his house we got ride the chevy stuff. He said no chevy stuff in his garage. He's a ture mustang and Ford guy 100%.I cant beleive how many of these have chevy in them.In the T-bucket club here in Reno only two out of 25 have a Ford.Well now there will be 3.I cant wait to get this car on the road. Either one would work good. I'd go with the 351 just because it is physically wider and taller. The 302 would look a little puny between the frame rails. This would be strictly for looks.

There aren't too many engines prettier than the 351C all dressed up. They run good too!

Just my two cents,...Boss429 or a 427s.o.h.c.,You know that there is a lot of small blocks 23T's out there,so why not do something totaly radical, plus thoese things are really light in the front end...or do a small block and put a 6/71 blower and a bugcatcher on it.

Ron,

Try www.badasscars.com
Arron will build whatever you want and might even put it in a crate if you insist.
