I was looking in the local ads the other day and a guy is selling a 66 fastback and claims it came with a bench seat. I have another friend who is pretty knowledgable in early Mustangs who claims that can't be. His view is that all fastbacks came with consoles, hence no bench seat. I also looked in my Mustang Red Book and there is no interior code for a bench seat in a fastback. Anyone have any info to solve this mystery?

I think bench seats were an option for any body style.
Anybody else?

Hi, not all fastbacks came with consoles, they were optional. As for the bench seat, they were not offered in fastbacks(2+2's).But I'm sure if you walked into a dealer ship and threw some cash at them they probably would have put one in to make the sale,Or in the car's 35 years a previous owner may have put one in.
