Fellas, I am switching over from a 6 cyl to an 8 cyl 289. Standing in the front of the car looking towards the windshield,...1. Is the power steering pump on the right? Does the bracket bolt go in the hole on the front near the valve cover? 2. Where does the coil bolt to the engine? Thanks, Ralph

The power pump bolts to the head on the right looking at the windshield. The coil can go bolt to the manifold on either side.or if your coil wire is pong enough you but it on the fender.------------------ 65 Coupe with a stock 1969 351w, Edelbrock RPM intake,carter625cfm,shorty Hedmen hedders,Black Magic electric fan, stock C4,peg leg 8" 2:80,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,Cragers SS,Black Suede finish. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html MEM#1240

It will help you to know that on a car, the side are determined by what you see sitting in the driver's seat. For example, the power steering pump mounts on the left side of the engine. {driver's side} ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC Proud to be an Infidel!

Ralph:My 1965 Mustang (and every '65/'66 Mustang I've seen around here) has the coil mounted on the front of the engine, on the passenger side (one way to get around the "left/right" confusion). ------------------ *andy* ([email protected]) also known as...***Boss Hoss*** *1965 Mustang 289 coupe* *1996 Mustang GT coupe*

Fellas, I actually knew the port/starboard distinction, however, I didn't know that was standard protocol. I didn't know that it was a universal norm. Anyway, does anyone have any pics that they can send me on location of these? I am actually going to put the engine in this week? I took out the 6 cyl today and painted the engine compartment. It looks great
