Fellas, I am switching over from a 6 cyl to an 8 cyl 289. Standing in the front of the car looking towards the windshield,...

1. Is the power steering pump on the right? Does the bracket bolt go in the hole on the front near the valve cover?

2. Where does the coil bolt to the engine?

Thanks,
Ralph

The power pump bolts to the head on the right looking at the windshield.
The coil can go bolt to the manifold on either side.or if your coil wire is pong enough you but it on the fender.

It will help you to know that on a car, the side are determined by what you see sitting in the driver's seat.

For example, the power steering pump mounts on the left side of the engine. {driver's side}

Ralph:

My 1965 Mustang (and every '65/'66 Mustang I've seen around here) has the coil mounted on the front of the engine, on the passenger side (one way to get around the "left/right" confusion).

Fellas, I actually knew the port/starboard distinction, however, I didn't know that was standard protocol. I didn't know that it was a universal norm.

Anyway, does anyone have any pics that they can send me on location of these?

I am actually going to put the engine in this week? I took out the 6 cyl today and painted the engine compartment. It looks great
