Thanks everybody. The encouragement helps keep the work ongoing. The engine compartment is 3 coats of Duplicolor DE1604 Universal Gold Engine Paint 500 Degree with 2 coats of Duplicolor Engine Clear.

I like it! I would never have thought of doing it in that color. How does that paint hold up?

Not sure how that paint will hold up. I chose it because it is engine paint rated for 500 degrees. Only time will tell if it was a good choice or not.

I don't know for sure but I don't think you will have any problems with heat. I was thinking more from the impact of tools and parts when you work on the car. When my car was painted they sprayed my car and the engine compartment in the same color. The paint has lasted even in the areas around the headers. It is also fairly durable. It hasn't gotten too many scratches from dropped tools. It doesn't look as nice as your's though. I couldn't afford the extra $$$ that would have been.
