It's an amazing thing, what's happened to my recently-purchased Mustang today. Replaced the 14" wheels/skinny tires/hubcaps with a set of 15x8 Magnum 500s, 275x60 Dunlop GT Qualifiers on the back, 255x60s on the front. Put the front spoiler on a few days ago. Although this is my fifth Mustang, and I've always been aggressive with big tires on my cars and trucks, this new combo has completely and unexpectedly transformed the appearance of the car. It's gone from prey to predator in one fell swoop. My wife says, "It looks like it bulges out all over now", and it's true. I almost wish I had gone with the 295x65s on the back. Anyhow, no rubbing anywhere even without a lift. Now I'm ready to start on the mill... Thanks to everybody for your input on tire sizes. ------------------ 1971 M-Code Convertible 351 4v, Hurst 4-spd, Ram Air Hood, Disk Brakes, Flowmasters, Magnum 500s, 275x60 Dunlop GT Qualifiers, Gauge Package, Power Windows

Yes,Tires/wheels make the biggest impact in the looks of a vehicle. IMO anyway. When we got the Mag 500s for the '66 they were clad in 275-60-15 BFG T/As. (off a '70 mustang) We put them on, but they rubbed everything! Had to go with 235-60s in the rear and 215-60s in the front of the little 'stang. Good Job, e-mail a pic to SteveL so he can set up a photo page for you! SteveW
