Need some input on this:

I am taking the C6 out of my 69 Cougar and putting in a T5. I will be using a hydraulic clutch kit and 10.5" diaphragm clutch. I can get the clutch pedal, the question is should I bother with the spring that attaches to the clutch pedal.

My understanding is that this is a helper spring to reduce pedal effort. Given that the hydraulic clutch kit and diaphragm clutch will already reduce pedal effort, should I bother with the spring?

I haven't seen the clutch pedal, I assume it has the pivot pin welded to it, or is there a chance that there is a shaft that goes through the pedal that I must get?

While I am at it, anyone have problems with a vintage shifter handle (ie hurst) not providing enough clearance on a center console? I need to get a handle and would like to know if there is a chance that my console will influence the handle I buy.

Thanks for any thoughts,
Ken
