I'm installing an aluminum intake manifold on a 5.0 based engine with AFR 185 aluminum heads. The specs with the heads say to "hand tighten" the intake bolts. This is a little vague. Since these heads do not have steel insert threads, does anyone know a reasonable torque figure to use on the intake bolts. Thanks, Bernie

Follow the torque sequence gradually several times until you can barely move a 3/8th ratchet anymore. Or, about 30 ft lbs.

I've always tourqued my aluminum intake to my TFS heads to 25 ft lbs. I do it again after I drive it around(after it cools) and have never had a leak.
