Since safety is always an important factor, im gonna try to get 3pt belts to stick into BeeBop (and maybe some newer, safer seats as well ) so my question is, how much do the 3pt belt kits cost - where can i get them - and how hard are they to install???? anyone else put 3pts into their '65-'66? thanks everybody ------------------ 1965 Coupe "BeeBop" Straight "6" 3-spd manual w/Hurst Shift https://mustangsandmore.com//ubb/TheIceman.html

I've been watching this thread too. The '66 doesn't have the shoulder belt attachment point under the headliner, so I dunno. Have thought about shoulder straps that attach to the floor behind the drivers seat for racing, but that's pretty clumbsy for street use. What if you used a set-up like in a modern convertible? With the retractor near the floor and the D ring at the window.------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773 Have rice for dinner, not transportation!

Why not do what Ford did in 68?

Sam, yep ive checked that link to Stephanies website as well as the one for '65-'66 stangs -- very informative (hopefully i wont have to resort to it though! haha )are there any other ways or places i could stick the belts??? (like steve said) i would like to do racing harnesses (a guy on the corral auction block is selling two professional black velour buckets for only $275 - with the back seat he wants $375 - that are set up for 4-pt or 5-pt racing belts.... hmmmmmmm) thanks again everybody, more posts more posts ! hehe

These aren't for racing obviously but don't look too bad for street use. The write up is in the Sept. Issue of Mustang & Fords. The vendor is:Pony car sales & restoration Dept. MF 805 W. Collins St. Orange, CA 92867 (714) 639-4457 Maybe they have a racing option also. I just put extra long belts on the attaching point on the rear outside belt and put two on the inside front belt. It doesn't interfere with the few passangers I have back there and it's not a problem as long as you don't put it on until they are in. Makes me feel better as a driver. Of course I don't do the racing thing. The 66' 65' don't appear to have the structure overhead for that kind of stress. I wouldn't trust it. Just a suggestion.

The ad in Mustang Illustrated doesnt't have price but I called them and I believe the price is $190 for the front. If your car need a headliner, it is not difficult to put a mount in ala '68. > Their ad showed the belts being used in a 65 cvt Their no. is 714 639-4457-Pony CAr Concepts&Restoration, Orange, Ca. 92867

I seen some very sanitary and innovative solutions to the three point seat belt problem. Here's one, I have others but I need to search for them. http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/track/1943/sped2/shharnes.html ------------------ Larry 67 fastback restomod 351W 68 convertible 289 C code

Not sure if the mounting holes in a '67 are there in your car but I found this installation very cheap easy and sound. http://home.fuse.net/bri_b/ It even shows how to do the rear seats. The guy who wrote it is also helpful, he actually sent me a set of the j-nuts needed for no charge!
