Have you ever had a vehicle you love, but hate at the same time. I have a 4wd 1/2 ton 77 f-150. It's a really good looking truck. Has a 460 with a 4 speed. It seems that no matter any amount of money or hours I work on this truck, it doesn't get anywhere. Just as I fix one thing, another goes bad.

It's my daily driver. I know that it's just about 30 years old, and things happen. It just seems to happen a lot more to this truck. It's always had an exhaust leak, hours spent changing gaskets, it broke a header etc.....it's still there. The list goes on and on.

Everytime I gut up to sell, somebody gives it a compliment. Either that or I drive the falcon for awhile and forget about it's problems, and love it all over again.

Oh well sorry to ramble on, but I worked on it for about 3 hours tonight, and it might be 5 percent better than it was when I started. Jason.

I know exactly what your talking about. My '75 F-250 is a very sharp looking truck and I just love to use it. It just drives like a tank, there's a few rattles, and I've now got this electrical short some where that kills my battery. So now I'm looking at a wiring harness and it needs brakes and the front drive line needs u-joints. But everytime I take my truck somewhere I get a thumbs up or someone compliments it and all the problems don't seam as big. To make matters worst I have a guy at work offering 10K for it. And I've given it some thought, went so far as going down to the lot and looking at a new truck. What a shock that was! That just bumped what I think my truck is worth. So I continue to drive my trusty old '75 that I have to cut the battery everytime I stop and I turn up the stereo to drown out the rattles. Smile and wave at people knowing that yes I have to work on it but I don't have a truck payment and it didn't cost me a arm and a leg.

On a side note I fought the exhaust leak battle also, I went with exspensive copper gasket and solved it.

Good luck with your truck and keep telling yourself they just don't make em like they use to. Darryl

Check your starter for the battery drain...it's pretty common.
