Here's the deal: This summer I am determined to swap the 460/c6 into my 68 F-100. It currently has a 302/c4. Any pointers are appreciated. I've found swap kits in the NPD catalog(motor mounts, trans mount, etc) for this, BUT it says "does not include Lincoln 460", which is what I have. Are the blocks different externally as far as motor mounts? Also, I have looked and looked and still haven't found a "for sure" long tube header that will fit my specific application. Has anyone here done this sort of swap?

The parts you need can be found in the '73-'79 Ford trucks. The chassis are identical when it comes to motor mounts. You need: 1) chassis bracket 2) rubber mount 3) upper mount to block bracket for a total of six pieces for the swap. I have Casler headers on the 429 in my '78 f-150.As far as I know the Lincoln blocks are identical. They might be mistakenly referring to the Lincoln 462, which was similar to the FE family. Tracy

Thanks Tracy. So I should be able to get the motor mount parts from a parts store if need be? I've never heard of Casler headers.

I just checked back here.If you're still looking into this or for anybody reading this contemplating a swap of a 429 or 460 into a '65-'72 F-100: The only mount part you can get at a parts house is the rubber mount. The "tower:" and block bracket will be junkyard or swap meet items. Tracy
