I was at a junkyard the other day looking at '67-'72 F-100's. I noticed a 9-3/8" center chunk in one truck. What's the deal?

Yeah, I`ve seen that once before too. A buddy has a small Ford only Wrecking yard, he had a 1970 F100 last year that also had a 9 3/8" rearend in it. I had always thought that they only came in big Fords & Merc`s, but apparently not. I have also seen a few 67-72 style PU~s with Dana 44`s in them. Odd.
