What was the last year the 3 speed manual with a column shifter was available? I know it was still available as late as 1983. A little off topic, but what was the last car that was available with a 3 speed on the column? I have seen early 70s Mavericks with it, but nothing newer.

The big push for OD's in trucks was about 1985, so I would have say that was probably the last. I haven't seen any that vintage with a 3man on the column.

Newest F100 I've seen with a 3 on the tree was an 82.

I don`t know about Ford cars, but a friends father had a 1976 Buick Apollo (Nova bodystyle)with a 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the column. I guess on the Ford front, the last vehicle would have likely have been an Econoline equipped with a 3 speed manual. I know that Ford also made some vans with the toploader 3 speed overdrive trans, which was floor shifted, I don`t know when the last "real" 3 speed van was made.

I had an '84 (mfg 8/83) F150 that originally had a 4.9/ 3 speed column shift. Good truck. Especially when I swapped in the 514/C6.

Seems to me when i worked for a Ford dealer in 81-82 that the 80 Granada may have been the last car but pickups were quite common with 300/3 speed.
