I was talking with a buddy that has a body shop and mentioned I needed a set of snow tires for the '87 Mustang GT. He noted that I haul more in the Stang than many guys haul in their pickup trucks. He then pointed out a Ranger pickup and said he'd make me a deal I couldn't refuse. It's '99 Ranger 4x4 with extended cab (important for me as I'm 6' 5"), a 3.0L V6 and an automatic overdrive transmission. It also has the step-side bed which doesn't look like it'll hold all that much but I think I can live with it. Any thing to look out for with these little four wheel drive trucks? I don't know much about the 3.0L V6. What sort of reputation do they have? The truck has 72K miles and has been hit in the front but Billy will take care of that. Dan Jones

If its the same 3.0 they put in a Taurus called a Vulcan they run forever and are a good engine. Not a ton of power but very reliable.

I'm not sure if it;s the same engine or not. I'll check the FRPP catalog. I think they have an engine family chart in back. Thanks, Dan Jones
