Last couple of mornings this has been a problem. Looking for ideas. She's due an air filter, so maybe she's just not breathing cleanly. That'll be step one. Short of that, I'm not sure where to go. No codes being thrown....

That sounds like an idle air control problem. We had the same type of problem in our Explorer, changed the switch and it was fixed.

Never heard of that. Where is it, what's it do? Weird issue. It'll start right up, but if you don't keep the RPMs up, it'll die right off. Doesn't even sputter like a cold classic stang, it's just like you turned off the switch.

Well, I went in there and cleaned it all up today. She'd start fine, but die a quick death if you didn't keep the RPMs up over 1000. Just like you turned the key off. Once warmed up, it'd idle ok. Not great, but ok. I replaced a pretty dirty air filter with a K&N and put some Heet in the gas. Neither affected it at all. Then I tore the air line all apart. Cleaned the MAF sensor wires and took the TB off. I cleaned the butterfly, front and back, and then cleaned down the intake as far as I could. Put it all back together, and she ran well. I'm hoping it was just gummed up (it was pretty nasty). We'll find out for sure in the morning. It'll be nipply tonight! Flurries!!
