...has anyone seen it or put one on a 4X4 V6 Ranger? I was looking at the Fisher Eng'r snow plow web site and they say it can be done with front air bags and 500# behind the rear axle.... Maybe a 6.5' wide poly plow?

Obviously this wouldn't be for commercial use. I'd only use it for my driveway, around the folks farm, and probably the neighbor's driveway as well. Sure, a F250 would be a better deal, but I don't want another full-size truck in the yard....... I know they put snowplows on Jeeps, but I'd rather not get a Jeep!

What do you fellas think 'do-able' or a stupid idea?

Thanks!
Ryan

Anyone even see a 1989-1991 Ranger with the optional snowplow prep package?

Apparently they were available....

They are pretty useless up here, and I suspect the same would be true in Michigan. Just not enough weight.

Yeah, I thought about that... but then, what kind of job do all those ATVs with snow plows do? They weigh even less..... are they pretty much useless as well?

They probably do a heck of a job on a sidewalk.

You could plow with any truck, just how well and how much is the question. It won't have the power or the weight to pile up snowbanks high. It will move fluffy snow ok,but you can forget wet snow.

Put a cooler on the trans if it is an auto.

Most of the real trucks here that move snow are 3/4 ton and up.

I had a lawn tractor with one and it was pretty much useless.

The fisher plows are good components. I have the RD 7.5 on my truck. I think I could break the truck before the plow.

BTW,they are engineered and made in Rockland,ME!

Thanks for the insight, Fellas!

Maybe I'll look around for an early Bronco that I could put a snow plow on...
