I have a 91 Ford F-150 4 by 4.It has a 302 in it.I blew it up yesterday a wrist pin let go busted cylinder wall.Anyways my ? is I just bought a perfect running 1985 mercuery colony park station wagon with a perfect running 302 with CFI injection I want to put the 302 in there now this is where the ?'s start.I know I have to change oil pans,Intake,Dist.,Exhaust manifolds, waterpump and all acc. brackets. Will this motor work?I know the 85 is flat tappet instead of roller like the 91.Are the motors about the same horsepower?I would like to install a little better cam without having to change the valve springs to improve the torqe like a RV cam. What is a good cam and part number?I also noticed the timing chain set from the 91 and 85 have a different part number.Which one do I use? Please help need to get my truck going.

Sure it will. Just sawp the components from your old truck long block onto the car's. If you aren't going to swap springs, do get too exotic with your cam choice. Look at grinds like Comp Cam's 260 series.Use the timing chain set for the engine you use, not the vehicle. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

As Steve said just swap the truck parts over... I am/was planning on putting the 302 out of my truck into something else if I can't sell the truck. But if I do, I am swapping pieces from a mustang motor onto it...
