My brother has an Aerostar (he's a soccer Mom) and needs new tires before too long... i told him that there and lots of late model Mustangs where guys take the stock wheels off and put aftermarket ones on. Some real deals on sets of the 17" aluminum wheels with good tires.

Now i'm wondering if the Aerostar has big enough wheelwells for say a 245/45-17... anybody ever try?

I would hope so. I would start with finding the recommended tire size for the van, then get the overall diameter on that tire, and go from there. Thet were 5 on 4.5,so many Mustang or old Ford passenger should fit,if the backspacing is close.
