Hi. A friend has a '54 Mercury truck for sale. It has no motor or tranny. Truck body and box have very little rust. He was going to rebuild it but now he thinks it's going to be too much work. My question is: If I buy it, which engine and tranny would best fit. Also , if I decided to, which truck frame would it best fit on? Thanks, Rino

I saw one of those in a Home Depot parking lot recently. Talk about a cool truck. They would use the same engine crossmember available to swap modern V8s in fifties F series, so you could use whatever Ford engine you wanted. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

Hi Richard. He wants $1500.00 for it. Guess I can't buy it. Got a Mustang this year and the wife thinks it's enough for now. Sure hate to pass on it though. Truck was from Saskatchewan. Sorry. I don't have any pics. You can try calling the owner if you have more questions. I sent you an e-mail with his phone number.
