I have a 460 in my 81. It'll light the tires up. The 460 is a good truck engine, but not limited to that. The only reason I would put the 351M in my truck would be to haul it away.

My 79 F-250 460 will smoke them with no problems. The aftermarket is not there for the 351-400 engine.

Mine is a 73 460 out of a Lincoln and it's nothing special. It's 30 over stock rebuild, with a Performer intake, but that's it. I'm happy with it.

Nothing special here either but a new Holley carb.

I had a basically stock 69 429 thunderjet in my 82 F-100.The engine came out of a 69 LTD and I was able to use the engine, transmission, power steering pump, and even the shift linkage. If I remember correctly I think I may have even used the driveshaft.Had to convert the engine to a rear sump oil pan and matching oil pump.I ran heddman headers and had a Holley 750 on it.It worked great and got better mileage than the baffed 302 that came in the truck------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html
